Amazing......

This morning at 5:53am, my best friend Mandy had a baby girl. I got to be with her through all the contractions at home, one trip to the hospital to get checked, sent home, up all night with bad contractions, and then back to the hospital for the live show! This is how my last couple days has been:

Wednesday night I could not fall into a deep sleep for the life of me. Up every 2 hours, tossing an turning, it was awful. Well my alarm goes off for work at about 6:45am but I was wide awake at 6:00am! At 6:30 I received a text from Mandy telling me that she has been having contrations since 2:45am that are about 6 mins apart. Nothing major yet, so her Mom and I met up and drove the 2 hours to her house to be with her. We stayed with her when we got there, timing her contractions, how long they were and times inbetween. Then, about 11:30am Mandy, Matt (her husband) and I went to the hospital while Mandy's Mom stayed behind with Mandy's other little boy, Dominik.

At the hospital we checked in, got in a room and Mandy got checked out. She was only 50% thinned on her cervix and 2cm!!! Well they won't let us stay unless she is 3 or 4! So back home we went. The drive between her house is about 20 mins, not bad in the grand scheme of things, but news was telling us that Friday a huge snow storm warning was in effect for our area, so we wanted baby to come out!!

When we got home, Mandy felt fine. No more contractions. We walked, ate spicy food, drank castor oil, (and when I say 'we' I mean Mandy) and even told her husband to work his magic. ;)

NOTHING!!!!!!

Well about 7:00 that night Mandy's Mom decides maybe she will take Dominik home with her, then if Mandy goes into labor that night she doesn't have to worry about him and if she doesn't her Mom could go to work the next day. At this time Mandy was feeling fine so she wasn't too concerned about her having the baby too soon. I wanted to stay, Mandy had asked me to be in the room with her and Matt and I didn't want to take the risk of missing anything. Matt, Mandy and I stayed up. Matt and I watched Mandy walk around the circle of their house over and over while I timed contractions on Matts watch. The contractions started to come back around 9:30 and they were more intense but very sparatic. One time it was 2 mins, next it was 4, then 6, then 5, then 6 for a long time, then 2!! AAAAHHHHH! So I rubbed her ankles for a while and she was pooped so she went to bed.

I tried to sleep, honest I did, but I could not. I watched a movie, and when it was over I heard Mandy drawing a bath. I asked her if she needed anything, she said she was just trying to ease the pain. I started another movie at about 1:15am dozed off and was woken up by Mandy at 2:10am telling me we needed to go. They were still not very close together but they were hurting her so bad she could barely stand then anymore. So off we went, Round two!

The nurse checked her at 2:45am and she was 4 cm!! YAY we could stay!! But I was worried we had a loooooong road ahead of us. She showered to ease the pain, and sat on those exercise balls for comfort. She had an epidural early in her first pregnancy and knew she wanted one with this one, but she was only 4 cm and the nurse said the epidural could slow down progress and we did NOT want that. But, Mands desperately needed something for the pain. At this point, everytime she had a contraction, she would tear up and then of course so would I. Its awful watching someone be in that much pain. The nurse suggested Morphine for pain and maybe to help Mandy get some sleep, so Mandy agreed. She got the morphine shot at 3:50am. 20 mins later, she had the worst contraction thus far, then the next one was worse, then worse, this continued for a good 30 - 40 mins. She told the nurse she NEEDED the epidural so the nurse made some calls, got her prepped and she showered again to try to help with the pain.

Mandy was in so much pain, but was seriously doing so good! I let her squeeze my hand, reminded her to breathe, and told her how great she was doing. Hell we're basically a lesbian couple at this point!! lol JOKES!! Anyways, epidural guy shows up! WHOO HOO!! Mandy sits on the side of the bed, over the little table, holding Matts hand, and I just watch. The guy was super nice, and explained everything as he was doing it and asked her questions trying to take the focus off the contractions. The needle for epidurals is HUGE!!! and they just put it in SO far!!! I couldn't help but watch!! I felt so bad for her again of course, because having a contraction while he's trying to do this just looked so awful. And she was just trying not to cry but she was in so much pain and had NO sleep at this point. As epidural guy AKA Kevin, is doing his job the nurse tells us that they call Kevin the 'cervix whisperer' because 90% of the time he does the epidural, as soon as he's done the Mom is ready to push and baby comes fast. Well, true to form, he had JUST got done threading the tube in her and hadn't even put the medication in her yet, just cleaning her up and Mandy looked at me and said, 'I feel like I need to push!'

Nurses needed her to try and hold off, they laid her down fast and then said, if you need to now then just push. They put the medication for the epidural in but Mandy was already pushing. Matt by her head holding her hand and me holding a leg, right in there! Well I promise you it was 5 pushes and baby girl MacLellan was born!! As Mandy was pushing and her head started to come out I just kept thinking.... ' I will NEVER be able to do this!' EVER!! I am not physically able!! I swear!! Mandy was a champ!! epidural MAYBE helped her through the last push when they were pulling out baby and into her check up after, but all of the pain and pushing was pretty much just her! Babies sex was a surprise but her were hoping for a girl as she already has a boy, and Matt's Mom had just passed away last month and if it was a girl, the middle name was dedicated to her. Born at 5:53am was 8lbs 11oz Coadee Josephina Maria MacLellan, 20.5 inches long! The name Coadee spelt the way it is, is after Mandy's grandma that died of breast cancer before Mandy or any of her siblings were even born. Coad was her last name.

I have never wanted kids, and this didn't exactly help, but it was AMAZING!! She has a full head of blonde hair, Mandy's nose and mouth, and Matt's head shape. I didn't even get grossed out by watching everything, I was just focused on getting Mandy through it. I can't even describe it............ AMAZING!!!

Here she is:

3. My Grandma J's recipes. Call me a little bias but she is THE BEST cook ever! She bakes and cooks and she makes some yummy treats! I have her brown bread recipe, her YUMMY potato salad recipe, and desserts from her too!! I wish I lived closer so I could just go to her house and have her teach me to bake all day long!

4. SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have lots of money to shop but shoes are always on my radar! I love cute ones, but comfy ones are the best! If they are cute and comfy thats just a bonus! And I like a bargain! I check wal-mart, payless, and places like that, because they are cheap!

5. 4:30pm everyday! I'm done work!!

Tuesday Gratefuls

Another good day!! Maybe I'm just cheerful because my hubby will be home Thursday, or maybe its just more fun being cheerful!!

Today I am grateful for:

1. Stories that inspire me. My cousins, Amberley and Katelyn's husbands competed in an Ironman competition this last weekend. The pictures, the stories, the sacrifices and the training is all so inspiring. Makes me wanna get off my butt and do something!! Thank you guys!

She laughs with ya, sympathizes with ya, and cheers you up when you need it! You know if Shannon is coming it will be a fun event! She has been a best friend to me for many years and shared my college years with me in Utah and now she lives like 3 blocks away in Lethbridge! Perfect eh?! Love that Shannon Elizabeth! :)

4. Chase's nieces and nephews up here in Canada. I miss my nieces and nephews everyday and I LOVE when I get to see these kids! It fills the void from not being able to see or play with my nieces and nephews! They make me laugh and I LOVE when they see me and run up and say, 'HI AUNTIE CAMMI!' Melts my heart!

5. Sweaters. I love that they can keep you warm and cozy, they can be stylish, plus they are comfortable! Thats the best part I think!

Funny Story

So I remembered that I haven't shared this silly story with you bloggers and it makes me smile everytime I think of it.

Last time Chase was home on his days off I played a little trick on him. We were having dinner in our living room and he started to pretend get mad at me and he threw a pillow at me! So, I said, 'We're going to get in an all out war later.' he just brushed it off and we went on our way. Well I pick up his dishes and I'm putting away the leftovers and cleaning up the kitchen when I see our big water gun by the back door that we use to spray the dogs when they bark a lot or jump up etc. and a light bulb went off in my head!! :) So, I filled up the water gun, then I filled up 3 big glasses of water and lined them up on the counter. Why did I do this you might ask!? Well because I know my husband and he would not just sit there while I spray him with water, he will fight. These cups of water are going to be my ammunition for when he comes after me and steals the gun away from me.

So I grab the gun, and say to him from the kitchen, 'Remember when I said we were going to get in an all out war later?!' "yeah?' he says. Well then, I ran in the living room, and he was laying on the couch, I just SPRAYED and SPRAYED as much as I could before he jumped up and came after me. I ran into the kitchen where my extra supply was and sure enough I needed it! Chase thought he was doing good by grabbing my gun and getting it away from me, then all of a sudden, I grabbed this full cup of water and threw it right in his face..... 3 TIMES!!!
OH man it was good. He just dropped his hands to his side and gave up. I fell on the floor laughing SO hard!! He did squirt me a couple times with the little water that was left in the gun, but I was laughing so hard and rolling on the floor that I just didn't care. Needless to say the surprise attack was successful!!

So I will say that I'm grateful for a husband that can be fun and silly with me, who won't sweat the small stuff, and that I love so much!!!

Chase comes home in 6 days, what other surprise attacks could I have worked up for him?! :)

Suggestions?!?!

Slacking

I've been slacking on my gratefuls because I've been really busy at work and haven't had time. But I remembered today so here you go!!

1. Joni... I know I already said my sisters before but I wanted to talk more about Joni. She's happy go lucky, beautiful, and smart. She sings so good and has brand new dance moves! :) we grew up the closest together within our siblings and in turn had the most laughs and the most fights. But, now I talk to her often and call her with every question, concern, and story that I come across in life. What more could you ask for?! Love ya Bones!

2. My Mom. I know I said family before too but just listen. :) My mom has ALWAYS tried to do EVERYTHING she could for her family. Financially and emotionally. She stretches herself to make sure her kids have things they want or need. She makes us all a little crazy sometimes but she can also make us laugh. I am glad she's still around, I love her...

3. Mandy... Mandy is my best friend. Her and I are honest with each other, can laugh together, and have cried together too. She is expecting her next baby in the next week and I can't wait! Her and her little boy are amazing and I'm so glad I Have them in my life! She's the best Best Friend a gal could ask for... :)

4. Alumni Basketball Tournament. This is a tournament that happens at the Cardston High School every year on the weekend of US Thanksgiving. They have the past and present Varsity boys and girls basketball teams get together and play a big tournament that goes on for 2 days. I get to see old friends and family and catch up with everyone and I love seeing how everyone is doing!! Plus watching basketball is always fun in my book!

5. Days off. Chase will be home in a week for 5 days!! And I have the weekends off. I love being able to deep clean my house on the weekends, have time to take my dogs for walks, make a good meal and watch whatever movies or tv I want!!! Plus lazy sundays are the best!! I can't wait to have some days off with my hubby while he's home!!!

So much to be grateful for!! LOVE IT!!!

1. My friend Krista. I work in Cardston and everyday on my lunch break I go over to her house and hang with her and her baby boy Bensen. Love it!!

2. Toilet Paper. Enough said.

3. My best friends mom Marian. She lets me stay at her place in Cardston during the week so I don't have to drive back and forth and it saves me gas. Plus my husband is gone so it doesn't matter if I;m home every night or not.

4. Bobby Pins.

5. Tweezers.

The end.

Friday the 13th Gratefuls!

Let me just start off by saying I love Love LOVE Friday the 13th!! These are some of my best days! (i hope I didn't just jinx it!)

Now down to business:

1. Sleeping. I can sleep anywhere if I am tired enough. Movie theatre, cars, planes, heck I could even fall asleep on certain rides at the amusement park! Maybe its a sickness but I like sleeping! When I can't sleep in on my days off it drives me CRAZY!

2. Water! Water is the ONLY thing that quenches my thirst! I do not drink pop, and even if I did, if I was dying of thirst and I drank a pop, it would not help. I like other drinks like juice and things but if I am so thirsty I can't stand it, I HAVE to have water.

3. Phone books/411! Comes in handy!

4. Being able to keep in touch with old friends, cousins, siblings, and parents via the internet. Facebook, myspace, blogging, etc.

5. Calculators. They teach you in middle school that you have to do everything free hand when you get to high school and afterwards but thats a total lie!! My work would rather I use a calculator and get it right the first time!! I use mine for various things everyday! (mostly to figure out what my next paycheck will be!)

Have a good weekend!! And Happy Friday the 13th!!!

5 MORE!!!!

My Fave Five for the day!!!

1. Sisters that live in the same town as me so if I need help with something or if I just want to hang out I can call them up!

2. Deodorant. can you imagine if we didn't have it?! Some people need to use it more often. I learned that helping 200 people a day at the bank, some of them you have to hold your breath while you help them. Deodorant = necessity!!

3. Everybody in the past and now the present who have put their lives on the line for our freedom. Its Veteran's Day in the USA and Remembrance Day up here in Canada and I hope everyone takes at least a minute today to remember people and thank them!

4. TV. I'm a 'reality' tv whore. I watch, Biggest loser, american idol, the Hills, So you think you can dance, Survivor, Bachelor, The City, You name it!!!! I know its pathetic, but tv provides HOURS of entertainment and I love it!

5. Toothbruhes and Toothpaste. I can NOT go a day without brushing. Its sick!! plus, bad breath is the worst!!!! This was a great little invention. :)

The end.

GRATEFUL!!!!!!!!

Well I haven't really been doing the challenge as I don't have a computer at home, but I figured I could still tell the things I'm grateful for whenever I remember!!! So here is todays, and maybe this weeks, who knows?!!?

1. My shoes. I'm grateful I don't have to walk around in bare feet. I don't even mind if they are $7.00 flip flops from Wal Mart, in fact that is a good majority of the footwear I have!!

2. Phones. If I didn't have a phone and my husband didn't have a phone, it would be so much harder on us when he goes away for work for weeks at a time. I am so glad we have this handy little things to communicate with each other on.

3. Blankies!!!!!! I know its pathetic, but I have this blanket that my sister Channing made me for Christmas one year, and I wrap up in it in bed every night! Even if I go fall asleep to a movie on the couch I take my blanket and use it there too! I wrap up in it, then put my comforter over top of that. I just love how soft and warm it is wrapped up around my feet. :)

4. Friends. The very good friends that I have are the best! I love conversations with them, dinners with them, get togethers with them, and advice from them! Its crazy that we are all grown up, getting married, and having babies. Especially when you think back to Elementary, Junior high, and High school. We were such punks!!!!

5. Our vehicle. I haven't had a vehicle for a year and a half because I hit a moose. Ever since I lost my car, Chase has let me use his almost everyday. And we weren't even married before! He carpooled to work anyways, and so he left it for me. I appreciate that a lot. And I am very grateful for his truck that we share now and that it runs well. (knock on wood!)

THERE YOU GO!!!!!!!!!

Grateful!

I read Joni's blog today and so now you get my list as well!!

I am grateful for:

1. Working right now. I am back at a job I used to have just filling in temporarily but I LOVE this job. The people are great, the office atmosphere is relaxed yet organized and I feel productive when I come here. If something permanent came open in this office I would try and snatch it up in a heartbeat!

2. My husband. I'm grateful that he has a job to go to and that he works so hard at his job. I'm grateful that I found him, that he loves me, that I trust him, and that he can make me smile in 2 seconds flat! Its scary to think about where my life would be or could have ended up if I didn't start dating him just over 2 years ago. We've been married for 10 and a half months so far and its going by super fast! He makes my life less stressful and more fun and I love him for that!

3. Music! Can you imagine if we didn't have it?! I sing when I'm in the shower, in the car, at work, walking down the street, when a good song comes on tv, and when I am being a nerd and just want to get a laugh out of Chase! I seriously sing all the time! Music can instantly change your mood, remind you of something or someone, and make you laugh depending on the song! I love it!

4. My sisters. I talk to at least one of my sisters everyday. An email from Sue, and Instant message from Ade, a text from Joni, a phone call from Nikki, or a text from Channing and my day is better. Either insignificant conversations or intense ones, I love talking to them. I love stories, silly comments, and the way they can make me laugh. Their the best.

5. The rest of my family too! And my in-laws! You know when you married the right person! Chase takes the time to talk to my family and make an effort when we're around them, and his family calls me to do things with them even when Chase is gone to work! I have laughed and cried with his family and we haven't even been married a year! haha. I love my nieces and nephews and miss them everyday and a single conversation with any of my brothers or their wives will make you laugh so hard you almost pee your pants. My dad gives the best advice and Judy solves all the problems, Mom can make me laugh and is always concerned about if things are ok. She always makes sure to tell me how much she loves my husband and that I need to do everything for him cuz he's my 'sweetheart.' :) Oh Mom. I am also grateful for Jeff and that he is working and that he has taken care of my Mom so well through good and bad times.

6. FOOD! I love it! (if you saw me you wouldn't be surprised!) It can be comfort and an enemy. You never know! You can have food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and even while you're just sitting at home watching tv for a snack! Sometimes it grosses me out or I get disguisted but for the most part I love food! haha..

What are you grateful for?!

WORK WORK WORK

Well what a summer its been for us!!
We had our reception on July 11, 2009 and got to see my Mom and Jeff, Jim, Leslie and the kids, and Joni. We had a lot of fun seeing our family and friends!! When I have my own computer I will put up the pictures from our day!!

After that was done our summer was just all work. Chase is working for a rock crushing company and is gone a lot. He has had several different shifts and days off since he has started but now his crew is at a jobsite up at the Northwest Territories and they are working 21 days on and 10 days off. They work anywhere from 12 to 24 hours depending on what needs to be done or if anything breaks down. I hate when he's gone and I miss him a lot, but I guess I should be grateful that he has work. Sometimes he is in an area that isn't too far away and I can go see him on the weekends, but this job is too far away and they have to be flown in and out of the area so I won't see him for at least 3 weeks.

As for me, I was working at a credit union but due to issues with not getting enough hours, I quit in August and was trying to find other work. I was unsuccessful for a while and then I got a call from an old employer asking if I could come back and help them out until one of their girls came back from maternity leave. I am back working at the Town of Cardston until about the middle of November helping them out until she comes back. This job really is so good and the people are great. (the pay isn't too bad either, ;)

Hopefully next time I write I can put pictures up of our summer and our reception and have interesting stories to tell. But until then you'll just have to suffer with reading a boring blog! :)

HOLY COW!!!

Well hello it has been far too long.

Chase and I are still living in Lethbridge, AB, Canada and working out lives away. If it was up to Chase we would have kids right now but I think we have plenty of time and can wait until we are more financially set (hopefully).

I am hanging out with friends right now and I LOVE that I have close friends that live so close!
My husband and I have the greatest relationship. We support each other with hanging out with our friends and keeping those relationships close and up to date just like our relationship is.
He is amazing and hangin with my girls right now is amazing. Life is good and we just wanted to tell you all that things are good. I will post again when I have more pictures!
Our reception this summer is and we wish everyone could come but we understand if we can't. Love you all and thinkin about you!!

My last day with Mom...

Today with my Mom was awesome. She got to go home for the day to your own house so we went over and had a visit. Before we went there Jim, Leslie, Tralee, and I went to Mom's work and visited with her co-workers. They were making her a quilt today as part of a fundraiser on Mom's behalf.
When we went to go see Mom she was sleeping so we let her rest and just hung out for a bit. She woke up and Jim and I took her for a walk around her yard. She remembered that they used to have cows and that they killed them because they kept getting out of the yard. She recognized her grape vines and her apple trees. She was so relaxed and comfortable.
She watched Tralee dance around the living room and even sang along with us as we sang songs that Tralee knew. She smiled a lot today so in turn we all smiled a lot today.
The hardest part was saying goodbye. Both times I have seen Mom since her accident I didn't cry until I had to say goodbye. I know I will see her again, thats not the issue, I just don't like being so far away and feeling so helpless.
This week has been awesome but tomorrow I get to see my husband again and I am SOOO excited. I am also taking home a new addition to our family. I am taking home a puppy with me. We already have a chocolate lab that is about six months old but now I am bringing home a mutt that is only two months. It is a Border Collie/Labrador on its moms side and a Great Dane/English Mastiff on its fathers side. Its so cute and its going to be a handful but I just couldnt resist!!
Until Next time....

What an awesome day!

Oh man today was good!

I spent the day at the hospital with my Mom and she was hilarious! you can read all the stories on her blog, prayersfortrish.blogspot.com

She is really coming around and they are not using as much medication which is awesome because now we are seeing how she would be just coming back to normal. She still slurs her words a bit and makes up words when she can't remember what word goes where but for the most part she is doing awesome. She gets to go to her house on Saturday for the day and she has been dying to get out of that hospital so we are hoping that will be a positive experience for her.

I'm staying in Meridian at my Aunt Michelle's house with my brother Jim and his wife Leslie because Michelle and Roman have gone to Hawaii and they are staying with their kids, so I am too! These kids are so much fun. I also got to spend time with my sister Joni this week and I'm glad because I don't get to see her often. I hope she starts feeling better soon!

I'll probably write again and tell you how the rest of my week with my Mom goes!

Until next time.....

Boise, Idaho Day one

Hello everyone,
I flew out of Calgary yesterday (Sunday the 1st) and had an awesome experience in the Calgary airport. I was just sitting there waiting at my gate and I looked up and saw this guy that looked really familiar. I looked a little harder and realized that it was Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames and that he was talking to his teammate and goal tender Mikha Kiprusoff!! I sat up in my chair and said Hey! and looked around to see if anyone else noticed but nobody moved, no on even flinched! I was in so much shock that I didn't even get up to ask them for an autograph or anything. Then following them not to long after was the rest of the Calgary Flames team all going to get on a plane!! It was really exciting. But, now I am kicking myself because I had my camera right there in my coat pocket and I didn't even stop them for a picture or anything!! Oh well, next time right?! (yeah right)

I arrived in Boise and went to my cousin Jared's house where they were watching the superbowl and visiting. Before the game was done my sister Joni and I went to the hospital so I could see my mom. We were met by Jeff and he showed us into moms room where she immediately said, "The girls are here!" I showed her the wedding pictures of mine that I had brought for her and she said to me, "you love that skinny guy?" I laughed and assured her I did. :)
We spent quite a few hours with her and had a pleasant visit. She made us laugh and it was good to see her. We had a good talk with the nurses to get caught up and made aware of how she had been doing and that calmed a lot of the reservations that I had.

I stayed at Jim and Leslie's house (my brother and sister in law) and we stayed up for a while watching Tralee and laughing at her a little bit. It was fun. Leslie made us breakfast this morning and Joni and I got ready and went to visit our Aunt Michelle before going to the hospital to see Mom.

Mom was awake when we got there and Aunt Nona was sitting with her. She gabbed at us a lot and made us laugh. She took a little nap and then was ready to walk a bit and find a way out of the hospital. We distracted her from that. She made a joke today and laughed at herself like she was really funny... it was SOO good to see her smile. It made my whole day.

You can read about my moms accident and how she is doing everyday at prayersfortrish.blogspot.com

Now, Jeff (my stepdad) Jim, Leslie, Joni, Tralee, and I are going to have dinner and enjoy a night in.

Until next time.

My First Blog

Well I am finally writing on here. I will write more when we have our own computer but for now I just write when I go to a friends house and use theirs.

Over Christmas Break we (Chase and I) went to Hawaii and got married. We were married on December 18, 2008 on Oahu at a beach called Makapu'u Beach on the East Side of the island.
It was beautiful and if I figure out this blogging thing I will put lots of pictures up.

Chase and I met in high school. If anyone is keeping track we have actually dated on and off since we were in the eleventh grade. Crazy eh?! eleventh grade was the first time we 'went out' and then have broken up and 'gone out' about a million times since then. We count our anniversary as August 20, 2007 as this was the day we started dating and have now ended up getting married.

Our wedding was very intimate. We had my maid of honor and his best man there and they each had a person with them. Our whole wedding was six people big and then you add the Pastor and the photographer. We will be having a reception to celebrate with all of our family and friends later in the year. We will probably have one in Boise, Idaho so we can celebrate with my mom and she doesnt have to travel, and one in Canada where me and Chase live as well as more family and friends.

Hopefully I can post again soon but who knows!!
