Beverly Bevans

No this is not what we are naming our baby.
This, my friends, is the newest addition to the Chase and Cammi Bevans household.
Look at that face!

Believe it or not it was NOT me that got suckered into this one.
That would be my husband. :)

Beverly was abandoned in front of the Cardston Pound on Tuesday December 14th. Our Bylaw Officer got to work at 8:00 in the morning and found a cardboard box with a little tiny puppy in it just sitting on the front step of the pount. Isn't that the saddest thing ever. I sent a picture of her to Chase and he said, 'We need to adopt that puppy!' I didn't think he was serious as we are not little dog people. But he assured me that Cocker Spaniels are smart and obedient and good around kids and she was free so I said why not?!
She is very smart, already going to the bathroom outside and only on potty pads when she is inside. Plus she is dang cute. We aren't for sure if she is purebred or even exactly how old she is but we have an appointment with our Vet in Lethbridge on the 30th so we will know more then and get her her first set of shots.
She tried to wrestle with Mojo. Its hilarious. She is about the size of Mojo's whole head, so she just jumps right on top of his head and bites on his nose. He hasn't snapped yet but he gives her a little bark to scare her off. The size comparison between the two is hilarious!
That's all for now!

Pregnancy Pics

Here is a taste of the Pregnancy pictures I had taken. My friend Ashley Law is a photographer and took these for me. I was 29-30 weeks pregnant at this time. Now I am 33 weeks and only 7 to go!!!! Isn't that crazy? I can't believe this is almost over. I am sooooo not ready and I feel soooo unprepared! I freak myself out on a daily basis. My doctor appointments have been good and I feel fine, just really tired these days. I can't wait to be done working! I get exhausted fast these days. My feet are swollen, its pretty gross. :) Anyways, just a little update. Enjoy the pictures!

Sad Day

I am sorry there have been no pictures in my last couple posts. I do not have internet at my new house yet so I write posts on friends computers and do not have my pictures on there. When I do have internet again I will post belly pictures and this weekend Chase and I are taking pregnancy pictures with my friend Ashley so I will try to get those up. 29 weeks along! Can't believe it.

Friday October 29, 2010 I left for my lunch break at 1:00pm. I picked up my lunch and was on my way to my friends house to eat it when I got a phone call from my Dad. He asked me if anyone had got ahold of me to tell me anything yet,(which I do NOT like the sounds of already) I said no. He then told me that one of our dogs had got hit on the highway. 'Are you serious?' I asked first. He was. 'Which one?' Was my next question. His answer, 'The brown one.' That's Molly. I, of course, cried. I told him I was going to drive home right away and just tell work I was going to be late getting back. Dad told me he had moved her from the road onto our lawn for me and she would be there when I got there.

For those of you who remember from my past posts about our dogs and puppies, Molly is Chase's dog that he had picked out before we were married, she is a purebred chocolate lab that he got for free from a cousin, and he loved her. She was well mannered, VERY energetic, and had to be in charge. There was no way Mojo could walk a step in front of her when we went on walks, or get the ball before her when they played fetch; that was not allowed. Chase was at work and did not know what happened yet. I called his phone hoping that maybe he was in the break trailer at lunch but he did not answer my frantic calls.

I got to my house and saw a police car next to my house waiting for me. That was the last thing on my mind though. I pulled in to the driveway and saw Molly laying on the grass, where she usually does, only this time she did not move when she heard the car on the gravel. The police officer got called by the people who hit Molly. He said there was nothing I had to do, but because he got a call he just had to come get my information and he would open and close the file today. He said the people were tourists heading to our from Waterton.

How did she get off her chain? I have no idea. She is Houdini I think. I kneeled next to her expecting her chain collar to be broken or maybe it had slid off her neck and that's how she got off. Nope. It was still on, in tact, and in fact still tight around her neck. So I walked over to her tie up chain. The clasp was on the ground, not broken, not open, not anything. I have no idea how she did it. How I wish we would have had our dog runs in place. We have a dog run ready for us and everything, we were just waiting for Chase and his brother to have the same night off to go pick it up so Molly and Mojo have been on chains outside while I'm at work.

Mojo is not the same dog now. The day it happened I sat inside with him while I ate my lunch. He was on his dog bed, I was on the couch arms length away from him, and he whined the whole time. He didn't care if I pet him or talked to him, he was just sad. Then of course, I was sad. He was inside all day Sunday while our friends and their kids were there and he didn't care if people walked in and out of the house, if the kids laid on him, if the baby pulled his hair, nothing. He just laid there. Which is good because we have a baby coming, but sad that his behavior changed because of what happened to Molly. Chase called me back after I was back at work around 3:30 and he just knew. I told him Dad had called me on my lunch break and he immediately asked if one of the dogs had been hit. Then he asked which one, and I told him it was his. He left work early so he could be home when it was still light outside to bury her. We took her up to his parents house and buried her along the fence line where Chase's family dog is buried. I was very sad the whole day. We had plans to breed Molly again this spring with another purebred lab. Oh how I would have loved to have puppies again.

You can look back on my older posts to see pictures of Molly. Still can't believe she won't be running to greet me everyday when I pull in. She will be missed. Our Molly Brown. :(

Oh my aching back!

My belly is growing and growing, which is in return putting more and more strain on my back. I am on a work computer right now or I would post a picture of my belly. Another time i guess. Monday was a holiday and I was allowed to sleep in and everything, but nope. 7:00am came around and my back was aching no matter how I slept. I was shoving pillows between my legs, behind my back, under my belly, etc. Anything to try to relieve the pain until finally I just got up out of bed and was awake for the rest of the day.
Well it happened again this morning. But this time I had to work the next day and my back woke me up at 4:00am!!! I have been awake ever since. Needless to say, today at work I am trying to get them to pass a new rule that we are allowed a designated nap time in the office. Or let's all close for an hour in the afternoon so I can go snooze. Nap time in Kindergarten is looking more and more like the best idea I have ever heard.
I have been to the chiropractor about 3 times in the last 2 weeks and I go again tomorrow. He says my alignment is improving and with the alignment problems I had is not suprised at all that the pain is moving up my back and making it difficult for me to sleep. I think when I go into Lethbridge for my Doctor's appt on Friday I will be booking a massage. All I want is someone to just rub my back all day long and never stop. Chase has rubbed my back for me when he was home, but he leaves for work and isn't around to do it often.
Please oh please back, let me sleep all night long.... Thank you.... love Cammi.

Ultrasound Pictures!

Tuesday September 7, 2010 we went in for our ultrasound and here are some things that we saw........

I love Love LOVE the profile shots on baby ultrasounds!
Baby from Head to toes (legs curled up kicking me) :)

Our babys little foot. Love that.
We found out later in the day from my Doctors Office that we are having a baby GIRL!!!!!!!! Chase was of course hoping for a boy but he is not disappointed. And to be honest with you, when we found out I could not stop grinning. I got more and more excited about it every time I thought about it. Now I can start buying things!! haha.. Chase will regret we found out now. ;)
I'm just over 20 weeks along and feeling great! I LOVE ultrasounds. Baby would NOT sit still. She was moving, kicking, punching, and even head banging. We saw her take some fluid in her mouth, make a motion like she was chewing it and then she swallowed it. That was the coolest thing! We laughed at it right outloud. So cool. I wish I could have 5 more ultrasounds. Enjoy the pictures of our baby girl!

Music

We started putting headphones on my belly so baby could listen to music. :) What's the first thing we let our baby listen to?! Well my friends, it was Alicia Keys! :) haha..
We wanted to let the baby listen to Classical music but we didn't have any on the computer. I knew that Alicia Keys played the beginning of the Moonlight Sonata and some others in some of her songs so that was the closest thing we had!
Well after about 6 or 7 Alicia Keys songs Chase decided he wanted our baby to have the Classical stuff so he started downloading a whole bunch of songs for me.

Tonight I will have Classical for baby. Also when baby was listening to music he/she started moving around like crazy! I had felt it once before but last night it was a lot of movement! It was crazy!
Stay tuned for pics from our Ultrasound! We get to see our baby today!! Whoop Whoop!

overdue posting

Its been a long time since I have posted a blog. I don't even know what I have been up to. So here is an update on us. Chase is still working building and tearing down scaffolds at a gas plant out near Pincher Creek and Waterton. He usually works 9 or 10 days in a row with 4 days off, but right now he is working a 15 day stretch and then will have the Labor Day weekend off. I hate long stretches of work when he is gone.

I am now 18 weeks pregnant. I wish I could say I was further along, I feel like I've been pregnant forever. A couple weeks after my last post I felt less queasy all the time and only threw up because I would gag on things. I gag after I brush my teeth and I gag on my own mucous, (totally gross, I try to get my loogies out all day long). I still gag on those things to this day but I have not thrown up in weeks, almost 3 now.

I cry at lots of commercials, random tv shows, pretty much whenever I see someone else crying on tv or in real life, I cry. :) Chase always leans forward when we are watching a movie to see if I am tearing if the movie is at a sad part. I've gained weight, I have a belly bump. I have not had any weird cravings, I just like to eat in general and sometimes I forget to eat lunch and then I feel sooooo sick by dinnertime. I don't know why I forget, but I have a couple times and hunger pains when you are pregnant are intensified by like 20. Super uncomfortable.

In 2 weeks I will be halfway through the pregnancy! WHOOP WHOOP! On Sept 7th we have our ultrasound to find out what we are having (if baby lets us). Chase is convinced its a boy, lots of other people are convinced its a girl. I have had no feeling either way as to what baby is. Some weeks I am telling a story and call the baby a 'she' and the next week its a 'he'. So who knows.

I have not felt baby move yet. I am waiting for that to happen but am not really excited to feel it. Let me explain. I get uneasy between doctors visits. I don't like that I can't feel baby move because I want to know that baby is ok, and when I don't feel the baby I feel nervous that something is wrong. I LOVED hearing the heartbeat, that was such a relief. But I have never been a big fan of pregnancy and think its totally weird when babies move around inside peoples bellies. Gross. I will feel relieved when I finally feel it, but I hope it doesn't gross me out too much. I've tried to tell people for years, I wasn't meant to have kids, nothing about being pregnant appeals to me, I'll be happy when baby is finally here, even if I do lose sleep. Lots of ladies tell me to cherish this time and that they LOVED when they felt their babies move. I hope I love it, right now the thought of it grosses me right out. haha... We'll see if that changes.

That is all I can think of for now. I am going to take some baby belly pics this week so I have some documentation of when I was pregnant. And when we find out what baby is I will let you know!

Until next time........
